It`s best to try to get there as early as possible if you want to be fluent... Depending upon the person, the age when you can learn another language "naturally" has a cut off of around 18. Some earlier, some later. It becomes much more difficult to become fluent afterward, apparently.

It`s never too late to learn a new language... It just gets harder, and the language isn`t in the natural language center of the brain. Sort of like playing a game on an emulator on your PC. Sure, it can do it, but it`s not the real thing. The human brain does something similar to that when it acquires a new language after a certain age.

according to this website ( Age and Language Learning ) they state that you can learn a language at any age. And that young people do not neccesarily learn quicker than adults. it was somewhat interesting.

I agree.. although children at their developing stage learn faster .. but yes you can learn the language anytime.. its up to your interest to learn the language. I was already 25 when I was really serious in my study. Still a long way to go especially with reading and writing Kanji.:vsign: but I can say I am fluent enough to talk with Japanese people and ask for direction lol:D
