What is the weather like in Hokkaido

I was looking on a subtropic map to see if there were any spots in America that were not subtropic.

I noticed that all of Japan was subtropic with the exception of Hokkaido. So I was wondering just what is the weather like in Hokkaido?

If it excludes severe thunderstorms everyday in summer, I just may visit there for an extended amount of time.

LMAO Since when? Get your geography straight!

I just realized it was a "Humid" subtropical map, and on the map most of Japan was in the humid subtropical region except the northern parts.

Here is the map

After looking at that I notice most of Japan still looks to fall in humid subtropic with some warm in between.

Hokkaido fell in temperate continental climate/ humid continental.

So, again I'll ask. What is the weather like in Hokkaido?

According to the map above it shouldn't be as humid as the east coast of USA.

Hokkaido is just like germany and most part of europe I think. Cause they also grow hop there and it only grows in special climates.

The map shows that too... I have no clue what that weather is like lol. I've only really been between where I live now and England.

Sub-tropical in the USA is Florida Keys islands

in Japan it is Okinawa islands and area

Edit, Hokkaido is cool, dry climate. 3 weeks in summer is hot and humid, winter can be -20C, meters of snow and strong wind, don't forget the sea ice in the north.

I live in England and the weather is dire (at least in the north where I live, it is). The weather has been great in France everytime I've been and it's marked the same as the UK on that chart. Then again, I don't really understand the chart completely.

Based on what people have told me about Hokkaido, its cold most of the year.
