How does thie experiment work?

The Waseda Satellite Project has an experiment involving QR Codes:

But it is not very good and I am still left wondering how it will work?

What is actually encoded in the QR Code? What will be done with it?

Any help in answering these questions gratefully received.

Looks like along with Venus probe launch they are going to throw this micro one along to test if it can make changes automatically to orient itself via taking a picture of a QR code displayed on another satellite.

Like you I'm not really sure I see the point either.
