fireflies in Japan - 06-04-2012, 08:14 AM

I've not got long left of my year in Japan so I'm trying to get some things done before the end of the year. Recently I heard that Japan has fireflies. I don't think my country has them so I've never seen them before. I live near Tokyo so I know it might be difficult to see them but I was wondering if anyone knows any good places in or near Tokyo to see them. Also, what time of year/day do they come out?
I live in Mitaka, so preferably somewhere around Mitaka, Kichijoji or Fuchu, but if you know anywhere in Tokyo, please let me know

This forum is dead. No one posts here for the exception of spambots and the occasional veteran who steers people to the new forum at the link below.... There are Tokyoites and other folk who live in Japan who can answer your questions there....
