What is the safest place in Japan?

Where is the safest place in Japan?

And by safe I mean, a low crime rate and/or low frequency of natural disasters.

Thanks for your help~

Well, small towns will be safer than big cities. Western Japan is hit by fewer typhoons...

Ok... so a small town in western Japan... hmm....

re: safest city

Well, I awoke the other morning to find that I had failed to not only lock my car door, but failed to even close it. It might has well been left wide open--it was ajar. Inside were all my business materials including my laptop.
Nothing was touched.
So, I'd say that Northern Tochigi (Nasushiobara/Kuroiso) is a safe place to live. But unless you know some of the locals, you'll also find it a boring place to live.
I didn't know a soul for my first six months and I was very lonely and bored. I've since met some nice people that go out of there way to show me around and make me feel welcome.

Doesn't mean much though - few weeks ago, I woke up on the floor of Yokohama station after a heavy drinking session with my wallet and apartment key on the floor next to me. They hadn't been touched hahaha

Japan is a relatively safe and honorable society, as a whole.

Where is an unsafe part of Japan? :)

Western Japan has more earthquakes. Every is safe as far as crime.

The only things that gets taken in Japan are bicycles and umbrellas. Bicycles are usually jacked by bored high school kids. And well umbrellas, half the time people probably just forget which is their's, if they were carrying one to begin with, and sometimes they will return them where they found them when it stops raining.

just like what everybody says.. its basically safe..

and just like what jason says, you lost your wallet and still get it without anything lost, but bicycle one time its there, the next its lost..
