Nova students speak out about collapse - in English - 10-26-2007, 04:35 PM

The news spread quickly today that Nova has officially filed for protection from creditors. There are articles now in the international press as well as plenty of them in the Japanese media.

Estimates are that 5000 Nova employees and over 400,000 students are now locked out. The employees haven't been paid and the students can't get their money back or the lessons they were promised. Because many of the Nova employees (the teachers) speak English, much of the available information online in English has been from the perspective of the Nova English teachers.

But, Chris Salzberg at Global Voices has made a very interesting post sharing the views of Japanese students at Nova. The comments are pulled off of Japanese blogs and translated into English.

If you want to get a different perspective on the Nova collapse, from the other group of people who have been hurt by this, check out the comments from Japanese Nova students at Global Voices.
