Japanese restaurant menu prices - 11-18-2007, 03:52 AM

Hi!

I want to go to a nice Japanesse restaurant in Yokohama and I am currently checking some of their websites out.
My question: Are the prices for menu`s usually for one person only or are they for two or even more?
Because until now I have always been invited and don't really know what was payed...

Example: http://www.kokonotuido.com/main/okon...ama/index.html
(I can't read/speak Japanese so this is what I know: Translated version of http://www.kokonotuido.com/main/okondate/yokohama/index.html )

Course prices are per person, and there are often limits on how many orders you have to make before you can get that specific course.
Individual dishes are also per person.

If anyone is trying to find me… Tamyuun on Instagram is probably the easiest.

Where are you visiting from? I moved over here from England and the prices are really cheap by comparison if that helps?

Hi!

I'm visiting from Germany. I also believe most restaurant prices are very reasonable...but the link I postet...JPY 10,000 for a menu per person ... at least for me that is rather expensive...I mean its not extravagant but considering that you can have amazing meals in Tokyo for around JPY 5,000 + drinks...

Yes, that is an very expensive restuarant. There must be 10,000 cheaper restuarants in Yokohama where you can get a delicious meal.

The most expensive meal I have ever eaten in my life was a 10,000 yen 12 course crab dinner in Japan. IMO, it was ok but not worth nearly that much. I had a lot more fun, and IMO better food, at yakiniku places or a zosui restaurant, where the prices were 1/10th that.
