Illegal work in Japan - 11-18-2007, 10:46 AM

I was wondering, if you work in japan illegaly, like teach people english off the record.. what are the penalties?

If caught deportation.

I think any question that has to do with 'what will happen if I brake such and such immigration law' the answer is universally deportation.

even for something as small as private teaching???

If you are teaching someone without the proper visa, I don't know how you would get caught.

dunno, but just incase... for example here, if i get caught, it's a fine that i get.... even though i'm not french... and they certainly won't deport me!

I think it should be fine as long as the person you're teaching knows you're not officialy qualified to do so; if it's a mutual agreement I don't see what the problem is.
