I think you should be friends with someone because you have the same interesses, not because of their nationality.

i think many guys in here just know about J-Style and hello kitty.
i'm angry about those people. that's not japan.
they think japan and japanese people is/are better than their country. that's not right.

but i understand people (me too) who want to know people from japan because they want to travel there somewhere in the future.

You're acting a little bit defensive...

Sure, you can learn a lot from friends, but if there is not a 'click' and only 'a preferred nationality', then I don't think you'll be good friends.

For myself, I don't like it when people are only interested in me because I'm Chinese/Asian and are like: "OMG, you're Chinese/Asian? Let's be friends! ^^ ''

I would like to speak with someone from Japan, just to learn from a good source about life over there. I hope to live there in the future and want to know a few things, like how women's rights are progressing and are all the toilets squat-style.
