In need of a new penpal

It has been a while since Ive been here...

Hopefully I will get at least a few responses to this...

I am an American teaching myself Japanese... untill recently I had a penpal.... we would write back and forth in Romanji/English but she for some reason stopped writing me...

So I am looking for a new one...

Ideally I would like a native speaker....so I make any mistakes.... which I surely will, they can be corrected (and explained)...

He wants a native Japanese speaker. You're an American otaku. You also don't speak Japanese.

I believe he wants someone to speak Japanese with. "Ideally a native speaker"

i know he can find some one like that but its not going to kill him to make new friends. would it kill you.no i dont think so.

Well...I appriciate the fact that two people responded.... although the responses were less then I was hoping...

I must admit im getting discouraged.... Ive sent friendly PMS to several people and have yet to get a single response (this have been over like a 3 month period)...

I might not return..... Not meant to be a threat...as much as a realization that this site is more of the discussion of all things Japanese.... as opposed to a place where you can meet/correspond with someone from Japan...

If anyone here either sees this and qould be willing to become a pen pal... or even if you know someone here who may be willing...please provide there screenname to me...

I dont want to wask my hands of this place... but it may not be worth the time investiment to keep coming back to see an empty inbox and no replies to my posts....

Oglethorpe: I am sure there are some Japanese people here. I found a new Japanese pen pal from here. I do not know why no one has replied to you. I am looking for real letter pen pals so it is harder as no one seems to want to write real letters anymore. I know some Japanese do not mind language exchange but I know some are looking for real friends. Sorry to be blunt but they might think you just want to use them to learn Japanese.Have you tried Japan guide? There are a lot of Japanese people there and many of them want to learn English, they might be willing to help you. :ywave:
