I'll correct the sentence for you:

I'm not from Tokyo and I'm not a girl, but I'm interested in having a Japanese friend to teach me some more Japanese; I'm good at English.

Girlfriend has two meanings in English

The most commonly used meaning implies lover. But it can also mean close friend that is a girl. :)

Actually.. where I'm from girls use "girlfriend" a lot to describe close friends.

And English is the native language where I'm from.

Where in Europe are you from?

I'm not native English, Albania to be exact. English language is high priority as well... Here they teach us both British and American at the same time, showing the differences, sometimes it is confusing. But I was taught since I was a kid so I got the hang of it.

But I'm used to talk to Americans more and since there are a lot of British people here, sometimes it's kind of weird.
