Hello ^^
First and foremost, I'd just like to say that I may not be an 'Otaku' and had never even heard of the word until recently. In fact, I find it rather insulting. I find all stereotypes rather insulting O__o;; However, I love Japan In fact, sometimes I joke with my friends that I may have been born into the wrong culture-and they actually even agree, too!My grandfather went to Japan and brought with him such beautiful traditional Japanese objects for my grandmother and mother-a kimono, fan, jewelry box, doll, plates, bells, paitings, videos, etc. I only own a fan, actually. And, at first glance it's noticeably not the fanciest but it's dark blue which I think isn't as common as the lighter colors. It's also covered in beautiful matching fabric and golden Japanese writing. I'd love to know what it all means ![]() So, wouldn't you know it, partly since I grew up in a house full of Japanese decor, etc, Japan's my second home. I've always wanted to go there-I even have some Yen for when I do someday =) I love that it's so rich in culture and that it's so balanced between culture and technology... I love kimonos, fans and umbrellas and the Geisha fascinate me =) As for the food; ramen (of coarse!), shrimp & chicken Teriyaki, Pocky and I would love to try rice balls, cooked sushi and bento ^^; ? As for modern stuff, I wish I could own a Pino (it's that new girl-model Japanese car-where else but Japan, lol xD ?). I'd love to visit Harajuku as I'm very interested in Sweet & Gothic Lolita and I also sometimes like Fruits fashion ^o^ <3 I like Manga & Anime, as well. My favorite Manga/Anime is NANA. I'm alot like 'Punk Nana' Nana Osaki, in personality as well as style and interests I'm also subscribed to Shojo Beat magazine for those quick Manag fixes xDI just love Japanese music! Anna Tsuchiya, Olivia, Mana-Sama from Malice Mizer & Moi Dis Moix, BLOOD, Gackt & X-Japan (especially Hide, may he rest in peace...) are my favorites. I'm generally attracted to J-Rock and Visual Kei. I also love the whole Visual look. The first time I used chopsticks I actually used them right-even though I'd never used them or read how to use them before-needless to say, I was amazed O__o Now that you know this much about me, I'd love to have a Japanese friend who'd also be my penpal. In the old-fashioned sense of the word, someone to write letters to-I prefer letters much more than e-mail. He/she should know English, though, of coarse, because I really have no clue how to read Japanese. Even though, I can at least hold a decent introductory conversation ^^; It would be great if a friend could help me learn Japanese-I mean, what better way to learn than from an actual Japanese ^^ ? But I don't expect it. I've just always wanted a Japanese friend... That's all I'd like, really, I'm not very demanding, I promise =) It'd be wonderful if we could correspond through letters and maybe packages to each other ^^ We could send each other cards on our Birthday, I think it'd be an awesome experience ^^ ! So if you're looking for a little taste of America and wouldn't mind fitting a foreign friend into your busy schedule, I'd love to be given a chance, pretty please with a cherry on top 0 (<-- Take note of angel face ^-^ ) Thank you so much for reading this! I look forward to any replies so please feel free to send me a private message or reply in the thread any time! And, the closer we get the more likely you are to know my e-mail/s and the other sites I go on, too, so it'd be even easier to contact me ^_~ Have a great day !XXXX & OOOO, A sweet (well, what the people who know me say, anyway ^^; ) American girl ![]() P.S. For the friend/penpal option, I only want a Japanese person but I'm open to friends from elsewhere as long as we're only friends on the site or through some other sites ^^ |

I hope, though, that someone responds in the very near future because I know from my own experience that having snail-mail friends abroad is lots of fun. Wishing You the Best... |
