Does "Looking for Friends" actually work?

that's how I generally felt about it. I prefer to make friends from like interests/personalities rather than post an ad and hope that it works. if we "click" on the boards, then hey, I has a friend!

but then again, I guess the types of people that would post ads would "click" more with each other...so ~shrug~ to each their own I guess.

i actually made alot of friends starting with that

most of them cuz they said "pm me if ud like to chat"

and i did and we became friends
sure some people just stop by to say hi and ill be your friends
but there was some people i got to know really well who asked me to PM them

That's interesting. Personally I have never responded to or posted a "Looking for friend" post. I see people say "Yeah, PM me" but usually there is nothing, or very little about the person (your dream is to live in Japan...join the club.)
