I'm not a huge classical fan, but I have respect for anyone who does ~ ! It's totally awesome.

Do any of you like baroque classical music?
My favorite composers are: Antonio Vivaldi, Johann Sebastian Bach, Georg Friderich Handel, Georg Philipp Telemann, Allesandro Scarlatti, Domenico Scarlatti, Antonio Caldara, Giuseppe Torelli, Giuseppe Tartini, and Pietro Antonio Locatelli.

Here are some videos from Youtube by Vivaldi, Bach, and Torelli to get things rolling:vsign:

YouTube - Bajazet:Qual guerriero in campo armato

YouTube - Giuseppe Torelli - "Concerto per il Santissimo Natale"

and

YouTube - Johann Sebastian Bach - Harpsichord Concerto BWV 1063

Enjoy! :D

I've heard of some of those composers. I :rheart: classical music too
& piano music.

my fav celloist is yoyo ma(i really dont know how to spell his name but i met him at an airport in mexico
my favorite peice is beethoven's 5th

grr hehe... I'm envious of everyone's music skills :D ah well.. well earned :). I can't say I can recall any of Newbold's music :( nor have heard Yoyo Ma(?) play any cello pieces... my favourite pianist is among the obvious ones: Zimmerman, Horowitz and those pop ones :P (may have spelt names wrong also). Ah, yeah I loved Beethoven's 5th... erm I would have to say my most desirable orchestra piece is either Grieg's concerto for piano 1, Chopin's concerto for piano 1, Rachmaninoff's concerto 2 and 3... (I've probably missed some other ones I equally like but they are the ones which spring instantly to mind)... but Baroque wise I would definitely recommend to everyone "Violin Concerto in A minor - BWV 1041 - 01 Allegro" (I'm starting to think another whole thread should be devoted to classical music itself :P)

I love Baroque music as well as the styles that preceded it. However, I don't care for the Classical style that came after it.

Favorite composer: Henry Purcell 1659-1695

for those who don't know the periods of European music:
  • Medieval (500 - 1400)
  • Renaissance (1400 - 1600)
  • Baroque (1600 - 1760)
  • Classical (1730 - 1820)
  • Romantic (1815 - 1910)
  • Contemporary (1900 - present)

YouTube - Bajazet:Dov'e la figlia?

YouTube - Viola da Gamba: Abel

and
