Talking My painting... Comments? - 01-28-2009, 11:42 PM

Hellos!!!! I've recently become very interested in acrylics, and have painted a couple of pictures with them. Below is a link to my second painting. (The first was kinda bad, as I haven't painted since I was, like, five.) I think it came out rather well... anywho...

P.S. Does anyone else paint Japanese-style art, using either acrylic or watercolour? I feel like I'm kinda alone. *Sobs*

Hm. Self-portrait?

I don't mind the warning; arigatou gozaimasu!!! I was wondering if it was appropriate... ? Anywho, I only have two others, the first one really sucks, since I didn't know what I was doing when I first started. And my third painting has been mailed away to some art competition.

No, it's not a self portrait. lol.

*laughs* Just thought I'd ask, as it was the first question to come to mind.

Well, I add, like, a TON of water to my acrylic paint. A ratio of paint to water would be like 1 to 4. And since I use a lot of light colours, I sometimes water it down even more (like 1 to 6). Also, I gradually darken areas, beginning with lighter tones and then shading bit by bit. Oh, and I use watercolour paper, but there's acrylic paper too. I've never really bothered with canvas; it's just more to deal with.
