AIKO 愛子 愛 ---> love 子----> child (Just like it a lot =3)
But you didn't want her name to begin with a consonant so ...
I really like Chou, it has got something catchy (just my humble personal opinion) It means butterfly (one of the rare words I did know lol).
With help from the site: Behind the Name: Japanese Feminine Names
It's a handy site and I checked if they were correct (the ones I liked). I hope it helps.

Edit: I especially liked Kaori too for her, it means "perfume"

Hmmm... Names I've seen, but haven't thought on very hard... I kinda like Miki, and Suzu... could they be combined with a "name ending" like "-Ko" or "-Mi" ? (Argh! the only two I know!)
Does anyone know any other good name endings (other than -na)?

Chou... hmmm... I thought about once before, but I may have to give it a second look! (Oh, and that website you recommended is certainly a cut-above all the others I've seen, thanks for the link!

Heh, I almost named her "Kikuko" but then all my friends (whom I was consulting at the time) were like: "WHAT?? How do you expect us to pronounce all these 'k's??" It was a very strange moment...

EDIT: Do you think it would be a good Idea to also consult the "Language Forum" for advice as well? Perhaps there are members there who don't come over to "Art and Creativity" Much who could also provide assistance... Advice is appreciated!

If ever the word 'bara' would be used as a name, I feel it would be more for a guy than a girl.

The color of the sala flower reveals the truth that is... To flourish is to fall. The proud do not endure.

Heaven or Hell, Let's Rock!

Like a passing dream on a night in Spring. The mighty fall at last, to be no more than dust before the wind.
