A poem I wrote

I
Sky. Blue sky. Vast and pure.
Hills. Green hills. Surrounded by beauty.
Man. Man of old, respected the blue sky and the green hills.
Lived with them.
What is man? Something that was crafted by God, father of all.
Father of all granted life to a vessel. Vessel is man, meant to live
In the garden of blue sky and green hills.

Who were they? Where did they go?

II
Sky. Grey sky. Dry and suffocating.
Hills. No more. Replaced by spires of steel.
Man. Holds no more respect for nature
Built the steel towers.
What is man? Something that is selfish and no longer listens
To the Father.
Violent. Violence is man’s nature now. Ever consumed by
The fires of war.

Who are we? Why have we done this?

III
Sky. Yellow sky. Brings death to all.
Hills. Consumed by hell. Steel stands no more.
Man. No more. Destroyed by his own lust for absolute power.
What is man? Something that is gone,
Lives on only in the past.

Who are they? What has happened?

… We are man.
