What do you consider creepy? -

I would like to write short stories with in the horror genre, but I would like to know what people would consider creepy/scary. Apart from the clown/bugs/ghost stories that everyone has. Is there anything else that anyone else considers creepy/scary?

people usually are afraid of things that they do not understand and also posits a threat to them. that is why movies, books, etc about the supernatural is so popular, since it is a scary subject matter that also is so hard to reach definite answers with.
