Something about schools - 06-11-2009, 06:39 AM

I didn't know where to put this so I'm sorry if it's in the wrong section.

I'd like to know if there's a big difference between a public school and a private one in Japan.Don't have kids or anything it's just something that has been bothering me for quite some time and I finally decided to make a thread about it.

~Thank you.

The biggest differences:

1. No education based on a particular religion allowed at public schools. Not so at private schools.

2. More "unique" or "flexible" curriculums available at private schools. (Less government control)

3. Tuition is free at public schools (elementary and junior high only).
