Why is it asian girls in the UK are like this? - 05-28-2008, 11:06 PM

Often when i go out round town with my friends, i always see asian girls either on their own or with like one friend, they always seem quite and very to themselves.

I am not sure if this is just unlucky for me that most asian girls i have seen are like this but they are, also they do not seem to be interested in anyone else around them, they seem totally oblivious to everyone else and for some reason never make eye contact.

Anyone else experienced this?

Well, if they are an exchange student, they most likely have a minimum grade to maintain and would like to keep it. Not everyone can be as care-free as us Westerners when it comes to education =p

Edit: Asian cultures place a heavier emphasis on good education as well (at least Japan in my experience, except for those with no wish to travel, they didn't try very hard in my English lessons (or maybe I was just a bad teacher)). If their parents are first or second generation immigrants, they may likely carry those values over with them.

In the Chinese culture i believe that it is frowned upon for children up to the age of 16 or 18 to have boyfriends or girlfriends because many feel it will interupt there studies and education. After watching many documentaries on Chinese culuture it is clear to me why China is an emerging market with great increasing power.

They work a lot harder than us westerners.

Will.

so u're asking why asian ppl are like more focused on studies?
xpp.
if it is...partly bcoz here, they think education is like EVERYTHING.
so they take it seriosuly.
if they fail/dont reach to their goals or smtg.
they go x_x or kill themselves.
but sm DO enjoy life as it is~
whee~~~
forgive me if i dn really ans. the ques.

Ill agree with you there. But i can see what Picture2 is saying though about asian women being to themselves. as i've seen this a few times myself when i'm out on the town.
I think it's just down to how eople have been brought up in different comminities and backgrounds. That's my own opinion anyway.

Personally I don't think it's asian girls that do this. I don't know about every other girl, but what you described fits me. I just think it's down to the individual and maybe you just noticing these girls because they are asian - if you look around you'll probably notice that other girls other than asians do this too. It's just normal, people don't tend to be loud and chatty walking through down, unless that's how your personality is. I never make eye contact with randomers either, it seems kind of rude, even though I know they are usually staring at me because my dress sense is unusual.
