What was your experience of dating outside your race? and no don't give me your race doesn't matter because every race brings something different to the table? Right now, I'm dating a man that's black/pinoy *phillipino and he's very cute. I got to know more about his asian culture, and it was very different from dating a black guy. He understands my black side but he takes so much pride in his asian culture. He's pretty quiet and observant! What is your experience with interracial relationships?

Well, I ended up marrying my Japanese boyfriend. I`m white....
And we have a child now.

But I will have to be the type to say that race really doesn`t matter that much. Culture does, as does upbringing. But race in itself doesn`t really make a difference.

In the end, people are basically the same. You just have to look beyond the cultural differences. People do end up having different experiences in life due to their race, but that isn`t race itself - just the effect of other`s culture.

I always find it frustrating that almost everyone I talk to assumes that my husband and I must have all these race based difficulties, when really we don`t at all.

well lets see I'm dating a girl that's half white and half black...the black sides cool, but the white side is WARy of me, like I'm about to rob them of their silver and/or gold...IF I wanted too, I woulda been done it...

aw thats cute ^^ and well i didnt have a very good one bc they didnt really like my race and we ended up only lasting a month so yea thats mine

My other half in Filipino, and I get alot of 'looks' from other Filipino women and other asian girls especially if we are at a club or bar. It's as if to say 'I could get him off you if I wanted' or 'what is he doing with you?' I just laugh at it. Older Filipino women are sometimes nice sometimes not to me. The Filipino bar girls in Japan hated all of us western girls, me especially! But we paid them no mind, we weren't there for the same reason as them and therefore were no threat to their business.

"everybody plys the fool, sometimes, no exception to the rule..." Why is there so much rascism, even between black people and black people? Liek my freind's dad is african and his mo doesn't like the american half....and my jaw dropped and then rolled up into my SKUUUUUUULL!!!

I've always been very interested in other cultures and their backgrounds/history. Every Interracial relationship I've ever been in was very succesful. Maybe because of the fact that I've always been open to other cultures. No cultural differences ever got in the way.
I must say tho, that I have two sisters who were in very serious relationships with Lebanese men and those were not healthy relationships at all. I cannot speak for them, but from what I saw it was a very CONTROLLING situation to be in. The men they were with did not have much respect for my sister's culture or upbringing such as religion etc. It was actually pretty scary.
Glad they're past that!!
