Hi,

I think the Relationships is very important to our society.
by my view to Relationships between people I saw

in human societies, the institutionalized, formal avoidance of one individual by another, usually involving persons of opposite sexes standing in definite kinship relationship to one another. A classic example—and one found in numerous and diverse societies—is the culturally prescribed avoidance of a mother-in-law by her son-in-law. Similar patterns of avoidance have been noted in brother–sister, father–daughter, and father-in-law–daughter-in-law relations.

Formal rules for avoidance have generally been interpreted by anthropologists as a sign of respect rather than of bad feelings. Where the potential for strain is evident, however, the avoidance of contact serves to prevent, or at least to minimize, socially undesirable events or situations. Thus, in many groups, avoidance relationships are practiced by persons of the opposite sex between whom marital or sexual relations are forbidden.

The point of relationships on a very basic level is to reproduce, it's THAT simple.

But if you want a more "emotional" and cliched answer then it's probably to find happiness and pass the time, personally I'm not a fan of relationships and so I can't give a more personal answer...because I don't have one.

Yeah, what others would call a relationship, I'd call it a close friendship. The only time I need a real relationship is for kids.
