I came across a "brothel" in Japan which rented out rooms with a doll of your choice by the hour. Strangely enough, it actually cost more than a delivery health girl + love hotel.

But either way, as sad as it is, there are tons of men in Japan who are in their 30's who don't know how to talk to women. They have little to no experience with women and are intimidated by the thought of being close to them... let alone being intimate with one. Some of these guys will resort to hostess bars where the girls are very experienced at engaging in conversation while the reclusive ones may resort to dolls.

OH MY GOD! SOME JAPANESE MEN HAVE DOLLS FOR GIRLFRIENDS?

It's not news to me!

In what way? You've got one or you know someone who's got one?

Reverse psychology, "dear Watson", reverse psychology.
"Manganese? Is that manga language?" - lol?

Eh, who cares imo.
Some people are very naive, and proud to be that way.
which means other human monkeys often just annoy them.
which makes it hard to tolerate people sometimes.

For example.
Sense you asked. : )

I would much, much rather live next to some weirdo that kisses dolls,
than to live next to some ghetto thug rap whore like lilwayne. (Worlds most ugly famous person).

This is where the "live and let live" principle comes in, for me. I don't really care about any of that, unless there are those among them who aren't happy about it; as in, they're not doing it because this is their dream, but only as a last resort kind of deal. In that case, I think help should be offered.
Not help like we'll lock you up for being such a weirdo, but actual help.

Why would anybody create such a thread?

Every country has weirdos. I live in the U.S. and I can guarantee that America has many weirdos, but I never post about them as depicting the American norm. In contrast, using weird minority groups to paint a picture of Japan is so rampant on the internet that people who don't know much about Japan actually end up believed this bull they read. Just a few weeks ago in line at a supermarket a stranger asked me what ethnicity I was. I answered I was Japanese. She asked me do I Cosplay! Lies will become the truth if one doesn't speak out.

There are so many negative factoids about Japan because no one fighting this propaganda. All the Japanese are on Japanese websites and Forums. There are so many anti-Japanese groups seeding these factoids that the internet is saturated with them. We need Japanese people to come into the English speaking internet and fight for their image!
