Virtual Japan - new front page design!
 

Hi Everyone!

Hope you are all enjoying the cooling weather. Summer is finally coming to an end in Tokyo. Yeah, I know, it's November-ish and it seems like it should be Autumn already, but the leaves haven't even changed yet - maybe soon!

Anyways, just a quick update to let you know that we have launched a new design for the front page of Virtual Japan. You can see it here:

Virtual Japan

Virtual Japan has come a long way since back when it was known as the "Japan Forum Wiki"! There have slowly been more people submitting articles and we've been adding more features like user profiles and improved category selection, as well as easy linking to Google maps for articles.

Please check it out and let me know if you find any bugs with the new design or if you have any suggestions to improve it. Remember, you can use your same Japan Forum login on VJ.

Starting later this year, or maybe early next year, we are thinking of doing some contests for users who submit VJ articles. We have some limited edition fashion stuff from LaForet shops and other limited Tokyo goods (including some crazy Japanese Blythe doll costumes) and we were thinking it might be fun to do some giveaways related to Virtual Japan article submissions. There are so many JF members who know stuff about Japan and Japanese pop culture, but still a small percentage are adding articles to the wiki.

More on that later, though. For now, just wanted to announce the new design and say "Happy Autumn"!

hi! from where i live ( California that is), fall almost feels like winter. except for one thing: NO SNOW! Why? i am not so sure myself. anyway, I LOVE your website.:rheart: :o

Nice design:D Well it is quite individual thing. Does the pink represents Japan best? Or it represents its people?:) In my opinion, a site about Japan should be more Japan-type than any other...:)

but to agree.. the pink... it does indeed burn.... :( A script to change the scheme would be awesome... maybe even changing the scheme in accordance to the season would be cool ; white / blue for winter... pink for spring (cherry blossoms, yay!) ... yellow for summer?

Cool, pink, attracts girls which double the rates of boys (thinking there are more girls) so more traffic. Nice!

Yeah!!! i agree. I would like to see a more japan like scheme, just like Americans do, by mixing it with their holidays and events. they even use themes as cure for cancer, etc...I love to see VJ to this, ah. what you thing?:vsign:

It's -53c Here in winnipeg! I'd kill to be back in Japan.

happy autumn??? enjoy summer wile you can!!! i´m not enjoying the swedish weather.... yesterday was -35*c. freeeezing!

I live in USA and the weather is really bad too. Its freezing cold and very hard to drive over the snow.
