Yes, most ring fighting is just sport. There are rules for safety. That doesn't change the attitude of some people. You know, guys like Mike Tyson actually tried to kill their opponents. It can be done with gloves on. It's what I try to do, and I've had people do it to me. It's often what seperates the better fighters.

Finnally, if you;ve anything to add, perhaps you could care to point out where in my life I could have done better. Where I could have been this big man you think I should be better than I am now. Coz that seems to be what you're getting at. I'm not good enough to meet your standards (seems to me because you're even worse), so how about some tips?

This is blatant flaming by Tenchu.. (also a regular member who also fails to get along with most). I highlighted the "go fuck yourself" part because not only was I banned for similar behaviour against Belyvis... I was banned by (I think Clairebear maybe? or someone else) for these EXACT same words prior to that (except I had the courtesy to follow MMM's suggestion thread prior to that which appealed to the use of *'s to censor the fuck part)

Furthermore on page 1 of the same thread. I don't know how you could be more racist than this.

Just wondering, is there anyone in history you favor? Maybe even the present (though I think modern people are mostly boring).

I make this thread so that moderatly black people can learn about history and great people before them.

I have 3 Hero in total. I'll talk about the others later in the thread if no one spams it. But right now I'll introduce my latest inspiration, Manfred von Richthofen.

He is known to have murdered over 80 men (aircraft) in mortal combat. Yet, the possibility exists that he may have actually murdered well over 100 men. Yet this is unconfirmed.

He flew those dull planes in the WWI.

This forum is not property of anyone, see it as a house.
This is not your house, you are just visiting and when you are visiting you obey rules/manners.
When people start drama with another member in someone elses "home" the "owners" have the right to kick the "Children" out if things can not be settled.

They are just like your local police, yes they watch out for crime but there not always going to be in the right place at the right time. Its just impossible.

Wow... really? Well whatever... little of this has been brought to my attention. And I have been trying to tone it down. Furthermore, obviously you guys haven't seen it fit to discipline me regarding these complainst you say you've had so it's irrelevant.

But your image is inaccurate (and childish) because I'm complaining about lack of consistency.. not about Tenchu's behaviour.

But if you can give Tenchu the green light for the above (despite him clearly breaking the rule regarding racism)... then I will not be so conscious about what I say anymore.

Also regarding Belyvis... I believe that he gave as good as he got... the only difference was that I could handle what he said but he felt it necessary to go crying to you guys.

Mods are people capable of watching the patterns of a user. This means that we actually noticed that you were toning things down.
We`re also capable of deciding whether a user meant harm, was trying to be deliberately insulting, is trying to start a flame war, etc - and change our decisions based on this. If you decide to stop toning down what you say, we`ll notice that too and act appropriately. And I am sure that quite a few users will be more than happy to see you go should you be banned. Most certainly not just Belyvis.

None of the rules here are set in stone. They are all open to interpretation by the mods, and some of us interpret them in different ways or have differing opinions on how severe a punishment some things deserve. We frequently discuss these things (out of view of the regular user) when making decisions about bans, thread removals, etc. The history of a user is taken into account - a new user who flames in the first few posts is pretty certain to get a perm ban... But one who has made good contributions in the past may only get a temp ban... And a longstanding member who has made mostly good contributions their entire time here is likely to get off with a warning and having the posts removed. We`re not machines.

I will also add that I`m usually in favor of short term bans - even the 1 day ones. Why? Because it puts an immediate stop to a problem that may escalate into something that warrants more serious action. I`d rather see a generally good user have a day off than to get hit with a week or two - or even perm - due to a lapse of judgement. Sometimes having a forced few hours off to think can prevent that.

OK fair enough.. that sounds reasonable explanation of how things work... and I agree you guys aren't machines and I acknowledge that for the most part you guys do a decent job.

However... Perhaps it's just me... but I think implying "black moderates" (as opposed to who? black extremists?) are in need of an education is definitely crossing some sort of line. It wasn't even prompted by something said earlier (It was the OP in which he made this statement).

It was really random and I was offended by it (and to those who are about to respond "But you're not black"... you don't have to be of a the particular race to which offense was intended to be offended by racism).

You were very active in that thread, yet you didn't notice it until someone showed you(which also shows very clearly that you don't read peoples posts, and you just argue for the sake of it... a complaint I'm sure many people have against you), so how do you expect the mods to know about it?

Do you really think they have the time to read every post on this forum?
They need our help! Like you calling me an idiot for example, do you really think that they just choose to read your posts because you think you're such an erudite individual ? Someone told them, and it got sorted!

Also, in the future, when you highlight someones use of swear words, it might be a good idea to not use them yourself in the same post... It just looses its effect and makes you look like a hypocrit!
