For me, recently I have been quite interested in 四字熟語(yojijukugo)
Because they make great kanji practice and are just generally useful.
My favourites I can think of now are:
十人十色(jyuunintoiro)
一石二鳥(issekinishou)
一生懸命(isshoukenmei)
