I recently watched "Moon Phase" which according to a friend was "moe", but at the time, I had never heard the word before. Now that I know the definition, I understand what he meant.

A moe anime is just an anime with moe characters in it. It's the same thing.

Truthfully, you'd have to be pretty hardcore to be able to accurately define 萌え in the sense you're speaking of. Even Japanese use the term without knowing exactly what it is.

It's not that people don't know what it is, it's just that people use the word to reffer to a lot of diffrent things. But I think this thread is meant to be about moe characters, which can pretty easily be deffined as submisive little girls (and sometimes boys).
