I only saw the live action movie so I don't know what the anime is like.

I thought Light was good at first but when he started killing people he became a real douchebag. I even kept saying that while I watched the movie. So yeah I'm on L's side I suppose haha

Hmm...good one, I don't follow Death Note much (I stopped reading when L died...T.T) Lol, but I don't think I have a side. Light and L both have major wits, and they both are very skilled, and quick witted in what they do. Light would have to be extremely sneaky and cunning, as well as a heck of a liar (which he was...true plot genius there.) But L had to counter, being very truthful, but also very bright, and aware of his surroundings. (Unfortunately, he realize a little too late...T.T) But yeah, all that to say, if I had to choose, it would have to L's side for the better of the Earth, and Light's side for the written genius of the authors...

I'm with L on this.
He's obviously a step ahead of Light, he's hotter etc - yet, I'm against death penalty. It seems weird to want to catch a killer 'because all killings are murder and NOT right' just to send him to his death penalty.

Wrong.

1. It was Light who was one step ahead all the time.
2. L looks retarded, nothing hot. Even MisaMisa was disgusted by him.
3. Light wasn't exactly a killer, also L was acting illegally.

I actually really despise Light, so I'm on L's side. Even though he started out with good intentions, once he made the decision to become a god of his own world, that's where he lost me. Now whenever I see a Light cosplayer at a con I try and sic an L on him XD j/k

I understand both sides, but I would have to say I support Light. Some may see what he was doing as wrong, but from his actions he was improving the world. As the story progressed, the amount of crime in the world began to drop significantly. If killing a few thousands could save millions in the future, I would say that action could be just.

Of course Kira is right, he meant to make the place a better world, and only violence and fear could make people behave properly as we see in china's regime
