Manga Starters

I have never layed hands on a Manga, and i would really like to. I've no idea what to pick. What's your opinions?

Look around in some book stores and see if anything interests you. That's what I do. :) Also, if you watch anime, look for the manga for it. Most anime is created from manga, so you should be able to find just about anything.

For starters I advice Naruto, One Piece or Bleach this are the mainstream now a days, if you like this you can try others, if you don't like any of this do some research and try to find does that suit you better.

if you're looking more for a shonen manga, try Death Note, Full Metal Alchemist, Inuyasha, Bleach or Naruto. it really depends on what genre you're into though =\

Death Note=shonen? What the... Well, Death Note isn't a good manga for starters since it is very long in dialogue, but it's a good (non-shonen) manga.

Fruit Basket
Mars
Model

Are good starters.
I would have to agree with other people too about the other manga choices.

If you start with reading manga, it is a good thing to know the
actual genre you're looking for. If you are an ''action'' type, then Naruto
would be a good choice. If you're more into ''fantasy'', then I prefer Tsubasa Chronicles, or if you are more a fan of ''slice of life'', like me I can recommend
Genshiken.^^
