Today I went to a store and bought my first collection of anime related items. I liked this anime a lot so I bought 2 Limited Edition boxes. Since it's Boxing day (A day after Christmas in Canada where everything in stores go on massive sale), I only got them both for $125!

It came with all this (My V.2 and V.4 DVD's aren't shown) and also 2 iron ons for your clothes.



And this lovely pillow case!

Nice stuff though. My parents hate anime and Im lucky to have 2-3 manga in my room, I always have ways to get into the stuff though. Its an every day thing...

No official date yet, but I would expect it in April like the first season aired.

Second season is to be based on the 4th light novel "The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya" The official website disappeared on December 18, the same day as in the novel. The new series is to be directed by Yasuhiro Takemoto of Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu and Lucky Star.

I'd love to see a Spring release for Haruhi 2 but I've seen too many signs pointing against it. There hasn't been a single mention of the new season since the official site was updated; since Spring's shows start in March/April, there should have been an announcement for it by now. Also, the copyright date on the changed site (the version with a picture of Yuki in the rain) said "2006-2009". I figure that means that we'll either see one season this year and another next year, or it'll be a double season (24-26 episodes) starting in fall and running through next winter.

...or something like that. XD We need more Haruhi now!

While we all wait for an official announcement, I'd thought I would post the rather bizarre live action trailers that were released. They are from the 3rd light novel of the series. "The Boredom of Haruhi Suzumiya"

On 7/7/7 at 9pm Tokyo Time this video was placed on the official website (haruhi.tv). It shows live footage from security cameras showing figures moving about on a school campus at night. The video show Haruhi and Kyon vandalizing a school field.

Like the events that occured on December 18, 2007, they are very cryptic, and leave much speculation. Some believe that the following videos are from a canceled 2nd season, representing the 3rd light-novel. The original director Tatsuya Ishihara was also working on Clannad, and conflicts may have arose. Yasuhiro Takemoto is the director of the new 2nd season, based on the 4th light-novel.

I think Haruhi is overrated. I've watched a few episodes and I wasn't really impressed...

i saw some of melancholy awhile ago, i thought the plot was kind of odd... but the art and characters were quite good

Update on the 2nd season of "Suzumiya Haruhi" from Newtype!

An article appeared in the June 2008 edition of Newtype. It seems that once again, the project concept has been redirected. The 2nd season is canceled (again >.<) and a whole new production is in the works. Sorry I don't have more info, but my Japanese language skill are almost nonexistent.
