Anime to live action, just say NO!
I'm a fan of this classic, they're going to ruin it. Write your congressman, your dog groomer, anyone, stop this from happening!! :p

lol...I have no idea about how to stop it, but I'll help you in anyway I can! lol! Anime's just not meant to be made into live action. Most of 'em anyway...lol! Hope I can help! ~HonoraryJapaneseGirl~ |
Actually this sounds kind of cool. Bubblegum Crisis could make a decent live-action movie.

I think they shouldn't make a live-action movie, but more something like the Final Fantasy movies... That would be awesome:rolleyes:

I don't appreciate to make live-action based on the anime. I watched a few such as Sailor Moon, etc., they really looked weird. The great stories were totally ruinned.
I think maybe it can work on some modern animes, at least those characters don't look weird and funny. But for some science fiction animes, come on, please just forget it. Hehe~:D |
some animes like naruto for example should never be done. But like Nodame Cantabile is originally a manga/anime, but they did a drama for it, and it was awesome beyond all words. Animes with lots of action and special effects wouldn't make a good live action, unless you have an unlimited budget and can afford great effects.

I think that they can be quite enjoyable. I have heard and seen some pretty interesting stuff for cowboy bebop and girl who lept through time live action movies.

Death Note was actually pretty good, in comparison. Ryuk was quite well animated, although some of the acting was a little squiffy. A few others have been Ok. Not amazing, just Ok. Lovely Complex was a good laugh. Tenipuri was lolzy, but not cringeworthy. I don't mind the look of the Girl Who Leapt Through Time trailer, but the story seems different, so I wonder how they've changed it. Trouble is, these LA versions have to live up to a) an already popular original, b) add a little something to it, or else it's not worth the bother and c) compete with a large variety of much slicker films and TV shows. That's a pretty tall order and I imagine a lot of producers don't think it's worth it, not when you're only appealing to a bunch of quite picky fans. Which is probably why Dragonball was a flop. They tried to expand it to a general audience, but failed miserably because they lost everything that was good about the original and alienated all the people who would have loved it for nostalgia's sake. I do hate the Americanization a lot of these anime are getting though. Hack special affects and cheap actors is tolerable in comparison to a complete bastardization of the story just to make it appeal in America. EDIT: Sakuran was a great piece of cinematography though! I had no idea that was even an anime/manga originally. |
some anime shouldn't be made into live action, but some would be awesome. I cant wait till they make the neon genesis evangelion movie and i also heard they are currently making the first of two Gantz movies in Japan. can't wait. Bubblegum crisis would be awesome as well

Knowing that Bubblegum Crisis was strongly influenced by Blade Runner, it has the potential to become a good live action movie, but since it's a Singapore's company that going to be making the live action, then there's no point in getting high hopes.
PS: If it's gonna look like this, then it has FAIL written all over it. ![]() |
We would be lucky if it looked like that (and I'm not arguing it looks good). I will not be able to care about the old series anymore after this "movie" comes out. Same way I no longer cared about Silent Hill after the movie.
