"homo romantic anime" is called Boys Love or BL as some people can find the word "homo" to be offensive. I can't recommend you any as I don't watch it.

For the OP, Enzai is a really good BL anime, the BL game on the other-hand, still really good, but a lot more graphic. For the more hardcore yaoi fans.

This thread would be a good place to look.

I didn't realize the word is offensive. I know it is called BL, but I think the word is formal here, so I wrote it. Nothing else.

In English, "homo" is a slur, an insult. Not a word one uses in polite company. English speaking LGBT individuals could, and might, get offended. It sounds as in your language, it is allowed (and I actually know other languages where this is true as well), so just note that in English it is not, for future reference.

Technically, this could include yuri or shoujo ai as well. I am a huge fan of Aoi Hana.

um well i heard 'Gravitation' is a good one. but idk really i hav only heard of this one sorry T.T

Got it, sorry for my mistake.

I have to say that I am a bit homophobic, but BL mangas do attract me sometimes. I like to see manly guy protecting, feeling for a feminine, handsome guy. Obviously it is just a tactic of replacing a female character with a guys name and some male attributes. I would call this tactic a subtle psychological signal for homosexuality, but in fact the real homosexuality is quite different. This kind of manga gives a twisted sense of beauty, many people become attracted mainly because of this. I am still repulsed by realistic style of BL manga, manly guy on manly guy, which is not to my taste.

RobinMask 04-23-2010 02:17 PM

If you're looking for good BL anime "Gakuen Heaven" is truly adorable, and as another person recomended "Gravitation" is very good too. It's a very popular genre, so there's plenty out there. "Fake" is good, but I'd only recomend the manga and not the OVA.

I forgot your question in the original post, so I've just editted to include a response. Yeah, I do enjoy the genre, but like any genre it depends entirely how it's done and what it's like, some BL can be brilliant and some can be awful. It just depends on the series. I would suggest - like others have said - not to use the term 'homo' though. I'll admit I was quite offended until I realised you meant nothing by it.

Sorry.

jrisjerry 04-24-2010 03:03 AM

Junjou Romantica,Gravitation,Gakuen Heaven, the above three I have watched, but strawberry panic not yet.And many of my friends recommend Kuroshitsuji is something concerning about BL, I think a little in it.

manganimefan227 04-24-2010 03:56 AM

Strawberry Panic is Yuri (Girl x Girl)

Hotch 04-26-2010 07:19 AM

Becase this BL anime is less, I like to read BL novel instead.:)

k1riko 04-26-2010 03:56 PM

Hi all,
this is my first post at japan forum.Yoroshiku onegai shimasu.
well,to the point.I like BL too ;) but i haven't really read the novel.but for manga and CD Drama,i do them almost everyday,in order to practice my listening though i started doing this 2years ago. There still many good manga for read,BL is different from shounen and shoujou manga :o

jrisjerry 05-05-2010 08:50 AM

welcome. And BL novel is interesting too, have a try

manganimefan227 05-05-2010 10:50 PM

Of course, otherwise it wouldn't be considered a different anime genre! :P

Tsuwabuki 05-06-2010 12:56 AM

I enjoyed strawberry panic, but it is not very realistic. Fun, yes, <3 Nagisa, but I found that enjoyed Aoi Hana so much more given its realistic settings and pacing. The characterisation was excellent. Also the animation's watercolor quality is quite pretty.

Sasameki Koto is another, but I tried to watch it and failed. It was just too silly.
