I'm amused that Tenchu is horrified by the idea of Draco and Harry getting jiggy but not Inu-yasha bumping uglies with his own brother. Or did you not notice that bit?
Eh, Nyororin is right- girls just like guy-on-guy for basically the same reason guys like girl-on-girl; it's entirely detached from issues of homosexuality so please don't start on the whole "but fags are gross and unnatural, ewww!' argument, because yaoi doesn't go anywhere near portraying realistic homosexual relationships and most of the fans are heterosexual women. Think of it this way; if a woman watches heterosexual porn she is almost always implicitly forced to empathize with the female character. In yaoi, the viewer can empathize with either character as they wish. There's a reason a lot of yaoi male characters are feminized; it's not about obsessing over what real homosexuals do, it's about allowing women's mental attitudes towards sex to be flexible. It's also emotional. Yaoi dudes express their feelings, or if they don't there's a big reason why. So in that respect it can be something of a female fantasy fulfillment; a man who connects emotionally with relationships and sex and shows it. Amongst other reasons of course. Some girls just don't like seeing vag in their porn when they can have two helpings of man. Fair enough, I say, let them eat cake. |
Lol …

InuYasha is the half brother of Sessmaru & Sasuke is Itachi's little brother, both of these cases are incest! Another exaple would be Fred + George Weasly or any other Weasly with another Weasly! And Yaoi is not unnatural Tenchu!:pinkbow: |
Ugh....
Yaoi is gay, but I guess you all knew that.

EDIT: I'll hasten to add right here that I personally have no interest in incest-themed anything. |
Heh, sorry?

I was also attempting to call Tenchu an idiot for only being able to reconize the word yaoi but not really doing any research to know exactly what the post's were about. Tenchu do you like yuri? If so then why do you have a problem with yaoi? What I'm saying is that the two genre's aren't that different from each other! Hence if somebody calls one of them sick then aren't they the pot calling the kettle black? The only difference is is that the people in yuri are female while in yaoi they are male! :pinkbow: |

I was just a little bit shocked. Actually, I just downloaded all the Harry Potter movies, and I have been watching one each night for the last few nights, and am watching another tonight. So it kind of hit the spot hearing what someone said given I'm currently watching the movies. Quote:
But, I particularily dislike the idea of using real characters to act out homosexual fantasies. How do you think Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter actor) feels about this? I'm sure he'd be less offended at hetrosexual cartoons, but I bet gay cartoons is not really his cup of tea. I'd imagine, what if someone made a yaoi of me and Mike Tyson or someone? I would not approve. I do not like any of this, but I especially dislike using real people. Quote:

I agree some of the aspects are highly dubious and I don't agree with producing erotica based on real people without their express consent. There's also some very grey areas with 'ages' and as you've seen, things like incest, but I don't think those areas fail to exist in other types of erotica either so if we're just talking mainstream Yaoi, the only 'disturbing' aspect of it is the homosexuality. I imagine if Dan. Radcliffe has been on the internet lately he's fully aware of what his fanbase gets up to, but then he is not actually Harry Potter the character and I think there lies the difference. Whilst there IS stuff featuring 'D. Radcliffe' the vast majority of the related yaoi media is about 'Harry Potter', and sometimes such an altered version of the character it's virtually a different person with the same name. I've seen a surprising amount of stuff based on Japanese or Korean boy bands however, particularly comics and I'm more suppressed their agents haven't suppressed it already. I imagine if any compromising photographs of them were drifting about, they'd have stamped all over it, but the doujinshi somehow seems to slip through the net. Very curious. |

My only language so far is english but I realize that I was not very clear the first time so I tried to corect that fact. I was half asleep when I wrote that so I understand why you couldn't understand what I wrote. Anything I write probably portray's me as insane, though I'm probably as sane as any of you! I'm not going to try to get you to understand but not all yaoi is porn like! This is the last post I'll put in this thread because I presented my side of this little debate to you, yet you don't understand what is being told to you by me and I'm fine with that! Sayanara(spelling)good-bye) :pinkbow: |

I can't pick a favorite couple though :pinkcry: I like SoraxSunao (Sukisho) and RitsukaxSoubi (Loveless) and YukixShuichi (Gravitation) and UsamixMisaki (Junjou Romantica) and SonoxSeiji (Sensitive ...yeah) and MiraxKazu (Papa to Kiss in the Dark)...I might just go with SoraxSunao...they were my first yaoi/shonen-ai pair so...but I AM a yaoi fangirl...(and not the "kyah!" :lovecat: :angryblob: :pompoms: weirdo, scary type we're all afraid of and accused of being )
