Q_Q too bad they stopped the anime there darn clock had to ring and before I knew it, it was the end lol ^_^ what about the manga did it end the samw way?.

The manga continues from there, but I perfer to to keep the ending of the anime. The anime leaves hope and mystery, while the manga continues for a bit longer and kinda drowns out that hope and mystery >.> but all together, the manga was better.

I love this anime...it contains my two loves: Romance and moral dilemma's. What makes us human? How do you define a "monster", and if you looked at the world through it's eyes, would you, could you, understand what you see?

That's the question I drew from it. Here are some others I've heard:

We all have masks we wear every day to hide our feelings. But when the mask comes off, are we ready to face whats underneath?

Can love really surpass all boundries? Is it strong enough to tie together man and beast? And if it can, then should it be embraced, or feared?

And the final deep, moral question I've heard arise from this anime is truely thought provoking. The question is:

Dude, why is this nude chick slaughtering everyone!?

XD Ya, they ask that one A LOT

They'd make great topics of discussion, especially the last one, rofl.

That is a good question, isn't it? Honestly, if the anime had only been a 5 minute OVA with just that scene, it still would have been loved XD

Yup, but not as much >_<; Though even that is hard to say, from the mere fact they etched an impression deeper than what an average anime of 25 episodic nature could offer.

I like that. It makes sense. I love symbolism. ^_^ . I love the symbolism of the puppy in the series. . . even if it did result in . . . yeah. . .

I'm guessing you're refering to the puppy from Lucy's childhood. What do you think it symbolized?

maybe it represents the writers deep-rooted fear of dogs? >.> That's the only reason ANYONE would think up a scene like that, is if he was totally terrified of them. A normal guy doesn't walk down the street and think "I know! Let's @#% around with a puppy!" >_<

Lol, I don't think he would have made it look so "kawaii!!" if he had a phobia that terrible :mtongue: Much less had Lucy befriend it, and forced us to feel sympathy for it. ;_; Unless he was a mental retard, who thought cute little puppies should be tortured to death simply because they're too cute. But if that was the case, it would be a tad of an overstatement to say he wrote such a beautiful anime xD

What I feel it symbolizes is:
Love is a double-edged sword containing an enormous power supply. From it, is derived hatred. If you can control it, invincibility is in your hands, and you control how your life is changed. If you lose your will and courage to love, you're just demonstrating a bad mutation of it. This thin line between love and hate is life.

Couldn't have thought of it without such highly intelligent questions I saw with my own two humble eyes :D

This came on Anime on Demand over the weekend.

Only the first two episodes were uploaded/made available on the list and I fella sleep during it (I just about always fall asleep to something.) but what I saw looked really interesting.

The beginning with Lucy escaping reminded me of Akira.
