I was born with French and English as both native languages(as well as Korean :p), but French written grammar is OVER complicated for nothing. They put so many rules and if you analyse a sentence it can get very complexe. Just the verb book was annoying(as well as many useless that you never use) to memorize.
Verbally, many people tell me they have trouble with prenouncation.

French isn't all that bad... Claire you probably hate it cos when you're younger, you hate almost every subject. And because you don't speak it today, you probably feel that they wasted your time which makes you hate it even more. I have the same feeling with German. I was forced to do it because I already spoke french and I was falling asleep in class, so now I hate german because I was forced to do it and because I've forgotten 5 years worth of lessons

Anyway, french is a really nice language. I agree that written french is hard, but it depends what kind of level you go to. If you wanna know the frnech that most french people know, its not so hard. But if you want to learn the higher level (ie, authors, advanced litterature etc), then good luck. You'd need to spend a lifetime on that. But that french is almost useless unless you want a career in writting french.

So, french isn't that hard. If you learn the basics and go live in france for about a year, you'd probably be pretty fluent!

French is easy, I wsed to be the best in my class, My last yoer of french was like 2 and a half years ago, and I only remember the verb "etre".

Je suis
tu es
ill e
nous sommes
vous etres
ills sont

It might not be correct :x

Moi je parle un peux francais, mais c'etais 3 ans, quand j'avais parlez la dernier fois. J'ai oublier tout.

I have learned it for 7 years in school but I nearly forgot everything. Thats not fair! I loved it so much. I have foreign language obsession, too, like 'ILOVEDAISUKE7'.
I was very good in class and I knew every vocabulary, we learned.
But if you dont speak it every day you will forget everything.

@claire: if you want to learn german, just ask me ^^v
