I know some Mesopotamian Arabic but it's a lot different from farsi I think.

well, erm, give me an example. in persian good night means: shab becher

and in mesopotamian arabic?

persiandragon 07-17-2008 05:56 PM

i can speak farsi a little bit cause my parents came from iran, but i was born in the USA. i can't read or write it though.

choma tschtorit? -- choma means you , but i don't understand tschorit.

nice to meet you reza. es man jon hast

Hackimoto 07-17-2008 06:34 PM

SebbaH il KHer means 'Good Morning'
Mesa il KHer is 'Good afternoon/evening'
Lele Saide is 'Goodnight
and Merhaba is just 'hello'
You can also say 'shloneg' to say 'how are you' or 'sharku marku'(more of a street lingo)
It's really confusing though because different regions all have their own unique way of speaking.

I think some people say "habibi" to say "I love you", but some use it as a noun. Like when someone is your special friend you call them your habibi.

ok! cool! choma tschtorit means: how are you? in a formal way.

Cool. In farsi good morning means sobbh becher
But there are differences i see too. Like in farsi hello is salam
Nd habibi, right, i know this arabic word. Means i love you, or my dear love, my great love.

persiandragon 07-17-2008 07:22 PM

Salaam, esme man Erik. Esme to chist?

That's about all the Farsi I know, I have a small textbook on Farsi, but it doesn't give me enough practice, and there's nobody to practice with.
