Argh don't say the J-pokemon name! Japanese pokemon names only please! (i'm playing platinum at the moment and trying to learn them all. I currently have モウクザル、 ムクバード、 コイキング (shiny, lucky me!) ルクシオー and ビッパ for HM's.
the J-pokemon name is サンダース (Thunders, hehe) but if you wanna talk pokemon, PM me, as i share your obsession :p)

On topic:

Not most, all. No japanese person will speak like any text book you read unless theyre talking down to you (assuming you know very little japanese) or your their boss or some special reason. Nobody wants to sound like a robot.

Tips for remembering: use lots of highlighter pens for different bits, i used

subject order verb

Pink because its not always nessessary, red because its important and green because at the time IKU (to go) was the only verb i knew and when you see a green traffic light, you go.

Hope this helps :)
