Follow Idioms
Follow in someone's footsteps - do the same thing someone has already done - "I want to follow in my father's footsteps and be a banker when I grow up"
Follow suit - very similar to follow in someone's footsteps, but more common used for short term events - "I'm going to follow suite and turn the car around like Tom" Follow one's nose - to go straight ahead or to follow a odor or smell - "The doctor is right through that door, just follow your nose". "I'm not sure where the cat put the dead bird, follow your nose then you'll find it." Can you think of any more or add to this? |
