If they are going to college in the US they probably would prefer to speak in English anyway.
|
Or if you learn those sentences so perfectly, they think you already can speak a little bit japanese and answer with a long sentence, too, that you don't understand. :p
If they live in America, it's important for them to learn English I think. |
Here Meta77, try this site:
Nihongo o Narau - Learn Japanese It has some Japanese lessons, give it a try :). Send me a PM if you find it useful :) Good luck :vsign: |
Ano is not excuse me. To talk to someone you don't know, you say Sumimasen. Otherwise, it's not polite enough.

What is "Tomorrow will be better" in Japanese??

I hope it's more than a short stay... "Anoo" is seen a lot in anime, and is often translated as "excuse me", but that is kind of a reverse translation. What i mean is that, as Kuroneko said, it means "umm", but can be heard by the listener as an attention-grabber. (the English equal of "Excuse me") As a foreigner, I wouldn't go around saying "anoo, anoo" as it might be taken as a bit forward unless you are talking with native speakers you know well. Depending on your intonation, "anoo" can sound sweet and demure, or brazenly forward, so best to stick with the textbook on this one. |
meh.......
I'm now only a beginner yay ^^; but my teacher is ok !! |
