Happy Howaito De! ホワイトデー,
Happy white day everyone :D
I had flowers and chocloates sent to my GF for today seeing as it's a (commercial) Japanese holiday! She arrives in London in less than 3 days - I'm so stoked :D I had no idea about white day until the start of this month when I did some snooping on the significance 14th of March (means something COMPLETELY different in the UK!) - I thought Japan celebrated Valentines just like the rest of us, but as it turns out Valentines is 'chocolate or cakes for boys' day and white day is the three-fold return gift to girls day. In case you didn't know what it was - he're is the wiki White Day - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Anyway, happy Howaito De everyone ;) |
man i have never herd of that before
but thank you man in case i did have a chance to go there (it is my dream):ywave: |
yay Happy White Day!
I think I mentioned this before when it was Valentines Day.... haha In Korea they also have BLACK day! I never knew that.... o_o; its for single people. Anyway I think I've shared this story before.... but one time I had a guy give me candy and chocolate on March 14th and I thought he was crazy because it's March not February and I laughed about it forever until my mom explained to me what White Day is. That was when I was in middle school but it was still kinda funny xD ps, I never understand why both Japan and Korea say "H-WHITE" instead of just "WA-I-TO" or "WA-EET" I mean it's phonetically spellable for both countries... but whatever. I always think it's weird because "Hwa-eet" in Korea is like "fight" so as the Japanese may cheer on, "GANBATTE!" or "GANBARUYO!" Koreans say, "HWAITING." (fighting) hmm... random thought lol |
I thought I'd see "Shiroi" in place of Howaito....
