Crani 05-08-2008 04:10 PM

Last year, I went to Anipop and I'm going back this year and now as a Cosplayer, still don't know which character, thought.

NightChilde25 05-08-2008 04:11 PM

I just got back from MTAC. I'm going to AWA in September for sure, but I'll also be going to Yaoi Jam before that if I can round up enough money.

Drend 05-08-2008 04:29 PM

I'm going to A-Kon in a few weeks.

Oh phooey! You need to get off work and follow Drend up here for A-Kon.
Its really not that far ..... unless you have to walk it.

What are the dates in 2008?
Usually my calendar is already full in October, but I have cancelled two annual events until further notice.

 your birthday is on Halloween?!?! INTERESTING!
Since that is not till a Friday this year, maybe I will be able to indulge in Onicon this year. Adding it to my calendar just in case.

It's like being on the internet... but in person.
Because allllll those different people you meet at places like this usually go to them.
You can just sort of let go and have a good time.
You cannnnnn go to a signing.
The dealers room where there are some serious deals on anime/japanese items.
Cosplay and be an attention whore all day.
They have about 2 or 3 raves/dances.
Where, unlike clubs, not everyone is fucked up on some sort of drug.

They have tons of panels with contest/info about animes or japan.

And they always have a fairly popular band from Japan give a free show.
Oh and a free arcade.

Lol <<
See. I'd say, " Look for me!" but uh.
You'd need a magnifying glass for that.

Sounds great. Do you get lots of different raced people?
England sucks for those types of things lol. Well my city does anyway ;/

Now you do.
Before it was mostly white people and Asians.
But I don't know when it happened but.. Just like all of a sudden these other races started showing up.
It's turned into a real variety.
You meet alot of interesting people that you just wouldn't run into anywhere else.
Like I said. It's like the net.

mikamigirl 05-08-2008 10:01 PM

Gah I hate cosplay >>
If I do it. I go as an original character.
Or spice up a popular character.
Like at school yesterday we had superhero day!
And I went as Batman..But a " spiced up" Batman.
I had his little "ears" that clipped into my hair and wore sunglasses.
With a black cape
A Batman T-shirt,batman belt, black skinny jeans and black stilettos.
It was casual/comfy and people still understood the theme.

Come to think of it. That'd be perfect for oni con. o.o

Uhh...I think it was like the second biggest one in the United States or something like tat...about 25,ooo people go there...and they aim to get guests who have never been to America...JAM Project is the frirst musical guest...but I don't like them very much...ohoh but the guy who does Uryuu's voice on Bleach is gonna be there...The Eng dub guy.

And the roducer of Death Note..and Chobits...annnnd. Vampire Hunter D...and a bunch moree

Drend 05-09-2008 12:06 PM

Jam Project ;__; I wish I could go to that. There's bound to be TONS of hotblooded manliness at that concert. I'll die if they play that "MOTTO MOTTO!". Versailles at A-Kon is going to have to quench my concert thirst until Oni-con's band is announced.

TalnSG 05-09-2008 12:27 PM

In my usual fashion of taking a different route to reach a goal, attending a Con was what started my interest in Anime and Manga. Just a little backward.:)

I was on the commuter train into Dallas and saw this guy with his kids all hyped up about A-Kon (which I had no clue about at the time). When we ended up getting off at the same stop I decided that since I was a early for my appointment I would follow them over to the hotel and see what was going on. The room with the JRock videos was open to anyone so I was having a good time. Reading a flyer between videos I discovered that my former Taiko teacher was performing later that afternoon so I decided to cancel my appointment and go get a day pass. Before long I was wrapped in discussion with a Manga author and browsing the vendor area waiting for Kobushi to play. This will be my third A-Kon.

SamuraiAlchemistNinja 06-15-2012 04:16 AM

This year, for the first time,I will be able to go to Otakon! I grew up in Delaware, and to think that I move all the way to Florida and then get the oppurtunity to go to Otakon is a little ironic...now so far away is when I get the closest lol

I just wanted to say:

I'M GOING TO OTAKON!!
