Math is very important in most Engineering courses. You're almost guranteed Calculus classes with lots of integration etc etc. However, when you do become an engineer, you will not directly be using things like Integration by parts, but you will definately have a certain way to think and solve problems. Mathematics is the best way to learn this logic, so they teach you a lot of Math. In all fields, the only people that really use what they study in their course are researchers. The rest, simply learn how to think.
