The big box is called "Honmei Choco = Choco for the one and only" and the small one, "Giri Choco = obligation choco". On "White Day", which is March 14, the men have a chance to give those women candies in return. True to the name, many men give white chocolate. ____________________________ Now, for all the JF girls dying to make me happy, here's my address: Nagoyankee 12345 Giri Choco Street Tokyo, Japan :pinkbow: |

My understanding is that on Valentines Day the girls give chocolate to the boys they like, and a month later on White Day the boys return the favor. It's a cute idea, and it's not just about couples, everyone is able to participate. ^_^ |
Now that I think, Olive, I think you might be right.
There was something about the first part in Vampire Knight. |
Interesting your class is doing the same thing. As far as I know, LBCC doesn't do anything special for Valentines', or I just never noticed because I don't see the point in V Day.
It'd be interesting if we had White Day here in the US, but Valentines' day is the girls' day already.... |

In Chinese, Vietnamese, Korean, and Japanese tradition, white is the color of mourning and death. |

Shockingly enough, only the women are the ones putting anything on the line. Men choose to either return the favor or not, but don't have to go through the humiliation of not having thier gesture returned.

I think it'd be nice if something like this were done in the U.S. (just my opinion) |

For a second there, when I saw you quoting my post, I was hoping for something interesting to read. *sigh* Oh the disappointment.
And, please, excuse me for posting only one of the sources. Of course, I can post more, but I don't think that will change much. |
It's a thread about Valentine's Day, guys. There really is nothing to fight about.

"Someone made a joke on the Internet."
"End him." Thinking on it, I never thought of it until MMM brought it up: women really do put more on the line on V-Day in Japan than the men do. That's pretty hardcore. Men gotta' step it up a little. |

What you say is true,i have not been apart of this cite vrey long, so i dont know much about how things work here, but it is the woman whom gives the man they like/love a choco, and in one months time, if the man likes.loves the woman back then; that is when he is to return the favor..although i may be wrong, if so please email me with the correct info :P [email protected]

I have a bag sitting next to my desk here in my apartment, and in the bag are several boxes of chocolates which many of the girls in my class have given me. It's a good thing that I like chocolate. I made a list of the girl's names so I can return the favor next month. I had my gf order me a large box of 白い恋人 cookies, hopefully I'll have a few packages left over after White Day, they are very tasty. |
