What computer do you have?

Okay, so just out of curiosity what computers are you all using?

I have an IBuyPower Battalion 101 CLX-630 Ultra laptop with a 250GB HD, 4gigs RAM, DVD-RW, Dual-Core AMD Processor and some generic AMD graphics card that kicks some ass.

And yeah, I have vista (eww)

(Mines black)

vilQ 02-15-2009 08:03 PM

I built my own rig.

The setup is as follows:

Operating System: TinyXP SP3 version + Office 2007
Processor: Core 2 Duo E8400 overclocked from 3GHz to 4GHz
Motherboard: Asus P5K Pro
Memory: 2x 2GB DDR2-800
HDDs: 1x320GB + 1x1TB
Graphics Card: GeForce 8800GTS 512MB (G92)
Sound Card: Creative Audigy 2 ZS
Case: Nexus Breeze
Power Supply: GamexStream 600W
Monitor BenQ G2400W (black)
DVD/CD combo that burns and reads all versions of both disc formats

Additional stuff:
Logitech Ultra-Flat Keyboard
Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer 3.0
A5 Wacom bamboo (wide screen version)
Some basic but good 2.1 speaker set
Sony HiFi headphones
random mic
Steelseries Qck Heavy mousepad (it's huge)

Guess that's about it if I didn't forget something.

(I can be a little enthusiastic when it comes to electronic things.)

Colin 02-18-2009 11:47 PM

I have a red one.

I just bought mine a month ago and I can't say much.

It's an XPS 31-something. That one that's in the commercial where the guy is walking down he street and everyone begins to hug him and kiss him and all sorts of special things like that. But that's not why I bought it...

It has 320 of them GB thingies. And then 4 GB ram something. Has some things like webcam, fingerscanner, and other magical shenanigans like that.

It's an extremely well built laptop and I have things set to work like clockwork on it so it's extremely conveniant.

Yes, I have vista but I don't mind at all. I'm gunna get windows 7 when it comes out

As the discussion went a bit off topic about netbooks and laptops, I moved those posts to another thread.
Here we are.

komitsuki 02-22-2009 05:52 AM

I use a custom rig:

Asus motherboard, AMD Athlon 64 X2 with a Nvidia card...

Oh yeah, I use Linux... Ubuntu to be specific.

KitsuneFr 06-09-2009 08:35 PM

First, laptop:
Fujitsu Siemens Amilo La1703
HD 250 GB, RAM 2GB, Processor AMD Athlon Dual Core TK53, 1,7 GHz, so a such very average machine, but still as good about what I'm using it for
Vista SP2 on HD, and Puppy Linux 4.2 on an external USB 4 GB key, works great ^^

Second, netbook:
ASUS EEEPc 701, I won't show the well known features, using Xandros Linux on it (a mess, I should replace it by Puppy!), all connected most of the time to a 19'' Medion flat screen and external keyboard and mouse

The two mostly used for internet and streaming, no games except old emulators such as SNES, Neo-Geo, ...

komitsuki 06-14-2009 10:10 AM

There's always Linux to resurrect old computers.
There are several alternative operating systems besides Windows and Mac. People should broaden their scopes when they choose an operating system.
