Japanese culture on bedding

Hi All , My name is Anita from Malaysia. I am doing a research preference of bedding for Japanese traveller and the reason for that Preference . As i know that Japanese prefers to sleep on 2 separate mattress on the floor even after the are married . Please share with me your thoughts on this .
Thank you

Individual sized futons are easy to maneuver, as sometimes the bed room is used as a different room during the day, so futons need to be stored, aired out, etc.

They fit next to each other just fine, making a double size for married couples.

Thank you for your information. If you are staying in a hotel with a king size bed , would there be a problem or issue .

It isn`t so much that people prefer to sleep separately, it`s that most people like to have their futons fit in the closet, which limits their size.

I would say that these days, it`s really varied. Some people sleep on single futons, some people sleep on double futons, some people sleep on single beds, some people sleep on large beds, etc.

A problem or an issue with what? Japanese people can sleep in beds...and many do. These days maybe most.
