*Thumbs up!*

I think a lot of the people who are bashing weed, don't really know the entire weed scene. They are just going by what their parents or whoever is brainwashing them with this bologna.

Weed is not a bunch of high school pot heads getting high and chasing pigs. There are some of these people in the weed scene, but that's not all it entails.

"If people let government decide which foods they eat and medicines they take, their bodies will soon be in as sorry a state as are the souls of those who live under tyranny."
-Thomas Jefferson

"An acre of the best ground for hemp, is to be selected and sewn in hemp and be kept for a permanent hemp patch." - Thomas Jefferson's Garden book

"The culture [of tobacco] is pernicious. This plant greatly exhausts the soil. Of course, it requires much manure, therefore other productions are deprived of manure, yielding no nourishment for cattle, there is no return for the manure expended... It is impolitic... The fact well established in the system of agriculture is that the best hemp and the best tobacco grow on the same kind of soil. The former article is of the first necessity to the commerce and marine, in other words to the wealth and protection of the country. The latter, never useful and sometimes pernicious, derives its estimation from caprice, and its best value from the taxes to which it was formerly exposed..."

“Make the most of the Indian hemp seed, sow it everywhere.”
-George Washington

"What was done with the seed saved from the India Hemp last summer? It ought, all of it, to have been sewn again; that not only a stock of seed sufficient for my own purposes might have been raised, but to have disseminated the seed to others; as it is more valuable than the common Hemp."
George Washington

So what you're saying to me is.... since People in Mexico kill each other over weed, it's somehow America's fault for the death's because American's smoke weed too?

I smoke weed...and billy smokes weed...and sam smokes weed. Billy and Sam kill each over over weed. (because it's illegal) and you're saying it's my fault they killed each other? Nothing that you are saying is really making sense.

You said "I never mentioned Amsterdam" but I can say the same thing about Mexico. What does Mexico have to do with America's weed problem? It's not my nor "my 50 friends problem" that people in Mexico are murdered over weed, just like it's not Mexico's problem that people in America are being murdered over weed.

I am a democrat and i can agree with this statement, America cant always be blamed for whats wrong in the world even the drug problem.

btw I think it should be legalized, I've known many who have done drugs for 10yrs plus but they are pretty fine to me. I think Ciggs are worse than weed, first of all Weed is a natural product however Ciggs are loaded with other products that give you a nice slow death rather than Weed. What unatural chemicals do you find in it??? I dont smoke Ciggs or Weed just stating an opinion and then on another note about weed, what about all these people who have over filled the jails for selling weed, thats stupid I think jail should be for vile criminals who murder or cause ACTUAL physical harm to others but not for someone who sold another person an ounce thats ridiculous. Maybe you think I am wrong but whatever my opinion.

Just don't get caught (In Japan)

alanX 05-08-2009 04:42 AM

Actually, I couldn't agree more.

Of course, weed has it's ups and downs, just like almost everything in the universe.

And to be honest, I don't know if I want it legalized or not, I haven't quite made up my mind, so I don't know where I stand on that particular topic. My argument is with the little 6 year olds coming in here saying it's bad it's bad, if you smoke weed your head will fall off and everyone will hate you, and you will be a social outcast.

....

I've heard this point before, and it makes me laugh a little. If you bother to look around you can find a number of brands of all natural cigarettes. I used to manage a smoke shop and we specialized in such products. We had close to 50 different types and brands of them. It should be said however you will probably not find more than one or two at your corner shop, as they tend to have short self lives, because of the lack of preservatives. This also tends to keep them more expensive.

The concept of cannabis cigarettes being more natural pretty much goes out the window, once it becomes completely legal. It would be naive to think that this would continue to be true once the corporate world is able to produce it. This is especially true since it is the current tobacco companies who would be able to get an early lead in this market because of the similarity in handling tobacco and cannabis products.

From the doctor:)

Two large studies reported no increase in death associated with the use of cannabis. Even diseases that might be related to long term cannabis use are unlikely to have a sizeable public health impact because, unlike users of tobacco and alcohol, most people who try cannabis quit relatively early in their adult lives, writes the author.
Exposure to smoke is generally much lower in cannabis than in tobacco cigarette smokers, even taking into account the larger exposure per puff. Existing studies do not support a link between the use of cannabis and heart disease, the leading cause of death in many Western countries, he adds. Furthermore, cannabis does not contain nicotine, a chemical contained in tobacco that is addicting and contributes to the risk of heart disease.
However, two caveats must be noted regarding available data, warns the author. Firstly, the studies to date have not followed cannabis smokers into later adult life so it might be too early to detect an increase risk of chronic diseases that are potentially associated with the use of cannabis.
Secondly, the low rate of regular cannabis use and the high rate of discontinuation during young adulthood may reflect the illegality and social disapproval of the use of cannabis. This means that we cannot assume that smoking cannabis would continue to have the same small impact on mortality if its use were to be decriminalised or legalised.
While the use of cannabis is not harmless, our current knowledge does not support the assertion that it has an adverse impact on death rates, says the author. Common sense should dictate measures to minimise adverse effects. These include discouraging use by teenagers, not using when driving or operating heavy machinery, not using excessively, and cautioning people with known coronary heart disease.

I'm pro weed. When dosed right it can be good for overal health
However overdosing (Like with anything) is not the way to go.
Anything that the human body takes in, in to high quantities is bad for it. Think food and sugar and what not.
