A lot of emo's?

Ciao people.

I've been active on this website for a few weeks now.
I've noticed there are a lot of "emo's" on this forum. With that I mean that I'm getting the feeling that there are a lot of "over-emotional" people active and that they are holding on to the idea of Japan, as if it is some sort of escape plan or something. As if a majority of them has troubles with their self-esteem? I was wondering how other people see this?

I do not mean to insult anyone. I was just wondering what others think about this.

I don't think it is necessarily emo, as that is really kind of a music genre. lol

It's because people on here have such a strong interest and passion for this country and lifestyle that is mixes in with their daily lives.

Yes it could be like an 'escape' but you're escaping to something that's making you happy, so I don't see what's wrong with it. :)

I associated emo with "emotional", as that is what I thought it was, hehe.
Ofcourse, if it's making people happy, they shouldn't deny their interests. But I've seen a lot of posts at which I was thinking: what the fuck? As if Japan is some sort of fairy-tale land where there is no sorrow.

I am also interested in Japan, I love it. I am planning to go there next year. But people seem rather "desperate" here. I was hoping those people could tell me why? Just to discuss ofcourse. I'm not saying that it's wrong. I'm a fairly open-minded guy.

Ah yeah I see your point there. Sometimes I do see posts and wonder why lol

I love Japan and want to go there in the very near future. I love everything about it, but it's the sort of passion that I can't have a huge emotional relationship with. I do have a fair bit, but not full on lol if you see what I mean?

Real emos here? Nooo way. Scene kids? Of course, plenty. Just to clear your thoughts.

What do you mean by scene kids?

Salvanas 05-18-2009 10:29 AM

The people who are usually desperate, are the kids. I'm not going to lie, a few years ago, I was the same. I thought that when I moved to Japan everything would be amazing. I snapped out of that a long time ago. It'll take some others a while to understand that.

I still love, and if it was possible, I would love to live there. But I know that realisticly, it'd be difficult.

Those who want to be emo or any other thing just because they think it looks cool. their life actually couldn't be better but they still want to be emo just to look cool.
