Yakuza Moon isn't actually about the yakuza that much. The writer is the daughter of a yakuza member who is basically ousted at the beginning of the book.

But it still deals with the Yakuza in a way.

It's a great book, a true story (the pics posted earlier of the woman in a full body tattoo is the writer) but don't get it if you think you are going to learn much about the yakuza.

I'd still get that book as well as the other one. Just saying.

It deals with yanki, I believe? Is that not like the American "gangsta"?

Yanki tend to be drop-out drug users with no direction in life. Sometimes they become low-level yakuza errand-boys, but yanki and yakuza are different things.

But, have you picked up "Confessions..." yet?

I have not, but I hear it is very good.
