I really hate small dogs though... every time one of them barks incessantly at me i just feel like punting the useless thing..

lolz. What do you mean 'face down'? Akitas are incredibly beautiful. So is the Great Japanese Dog.
I agree with you on the small dogs-thing really. But I'd say labs are freaking annoying as well. ARG! >_>'' Though I'd like to think of it as the owner sucking as to the dog being annoying, really. Most dogs have high chances of all become great individuals - unless they end up with a sucky owner. lol

Yeah, our Rottweiler was taught really well and very strictly. She picked up on things so fast. My mom taught her to sit in about an hour, literally. I taught her to ring a bell on the door when she needed to go out to go to the bathroom. She was very gentle too. You could take a piece of meat straight out of her mouth or tell her to drop it and she'd do so.

Most dogs learn fast. ^^v
And yeah, I can take out food directly from my dogs' mouths if I have to. I think all dogs should be taught to allow it already from pups off, as you might have to take stuff from them if it's dangerous for them to eat and what not.

Yeah, most dogs have the ability. We had many dogs growing up and our Rottie was by far the smartest and fastest learner out of all of them. I completely agree with you about teaching all dogs to allow you to mess with things in their mouth. Puppies are always getting into so much trouble so you're constantly having to take back what ever new thing they've discovered fits in their mouths.

Yeah exactly. I know way too many people with dogs who cannot take the dog's food away from them without them going all defensive and aggressive on them. It's important to teach the dog to have confidence in your judgment. That way you can almost do anything to it (within the range of what's acceptable according to animal rights etc., of course) and it will allow.
Rottweilers are definitely smart. They were bread with the idea of it being a smart dog, easy to train and with a clear expression of physical strength. It's a great dog, really, even though I prefer my own Newfs (and my future chow chow) at all times : P

So we definitely got snow pretty early this year. Usually it doesn't come around until New Years, but oh well.

I made the mistake of going outside in flipflops to take out the trash. lol. All the snow on the top of the trashcan tilted down on my feet. I can still barely feel them.

Also.. This is Emma. ^^ She had her eye taken out a couple of days ago, due to a tilted lense. She's healing fine now. -pats dog-
