Mass murders in Japan

So the Akihabara thread lead me to an interesting and morbid subject.

I didn't know anything about the Akihabara 'massacre', and while doing some research I stumbled on some more interesting Japanese mass-murders.

I've listed some of them below:

Matsumoto incident - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Sarin gas attack on the Tokyo subway - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Osaka school massacre - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Akihabara massacre - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Is anyone familiar with some other strange Japanese crimes? Should I be scared to go to Akihabara?

Scared to go to Akihabara? Because of one random incident? Then you should be scared to go just about anywhere.

Hence my "roll eyes" face at the end.

What's the point? Don't you think bad things have happened in every other country around the world?

If you think that scares you about Japan, why don't you just go and wikipedia Unit 731 while you're at all. All and all, things like this don't happen often, they were all spanned many years apart for the most part.

I'll save you the trouble

I don't think wartime atrocities are all that relevant...

JayT 08-27-2009 05:46 AM

Well it was still a large crime committed against humanity,
there isn't all that many bad things that Japan has done anyway, besides whaling

burkhartdesu 08-27-2009 06:11 AM

I was just more interested in the "strange" factor of these crimes.

Nothing about Japan, or any other modernized country, scares me...:smokingbear:
